Tap Classes at
Weymouth Dance Studio
Tap dancing is a lively and rhythmic style that allows dancers to create music with their feet. At Weymouth Dance Studio, we offer tap classes for a wide range of ages and abilities, teaching students how to master rhythm, timing, and coordination through engaging and dynamic routines.
Age Groups and Levels
Beginners
Our beginner tap classes introduce the fundamentals of tap dance, focusing on basic steps and simple rhythms. Young dancers learn to develop a sense of timing and coordination while having fun making beats with their feet.
Grades 1-6
As dancers progress through the levels, they work on more intricate steps, combinations, and rhythmic patterns. Following the ISTD syllabus, students gain a deeper understanding of musicality and improve their technique as they move through the graded levels.
Advanced & Performance
For more experienced dancers, our advanced tap classes focus on challenging choreography, faster rhythms, and complex footwork. These classes offer students the opportunity to refine their technique and develop performance skills, preparing them for both exams and stage performances.

Why Tap?
Tap dance is not only a fun and energetic way to express yourself but also an excellent way to enhance rhythm, balance, and coordination. It helps dancers develop strong musicality, which is beneficial for all dance styles. Tap also teaches students the importance of precision and timing, making it an ideal style for dancers who enjoy working with intricate rhythms and sounds.
